Privacy note: the PDF and image files you select are processed in your browser by this tool. 2PDF2 does not intentionally upload the selected document to its own server for editing. The webpage itself may still connect to third-party services such as our code-delivery provider, analytics, or advertising services as described in our Privacy Policy.
How to edit a PDF
- Select Choose PDF file and open one PDF.
- Use the toolbar to add text, drawing, highlights, white boxes, images, or a signature image.
- Use Select / Move to drag, resize, or rotate added elements.
- Move between pages and add edits where needed.
- Select Save edited PDF, then download the new document after validation finishes.
What you can add to a PDF
Text
Add new text anywhere on the page, choose a font size and color, then move, resize, rotate, or update the text you added.
Drawing and highlighting
Draw freehand marks with your selected color or add a translucent highlight box that can be resized and positioned.
Images and signatures
Add PNG, JPEG, or WebP images, including a saved signature image, and position them on the PDF page.
Local processing
PDF rendering, visual editing, and output generation are performed in your browser rather than on a 2PDF2 document server.
Can this tool change existing PDF text?
This editor does not reconstruct and rewrite existing PDF text as if the document were a Word file. Existing PDF content remains part of the original page. The editor adds new visual content on top of those pages. This is useful for annotations, corrections, labels, signatures, notes, highlights, and visual covers.
White box versus secure redaction
A white box is only a visual cover. It does not prove that the underlying text, image, metadata, or object has been removed from the PDF. Confidential or legally sensitive information requires a true redaction process that permanently removes the underlying content. Do not rely on a white shape as secure redaction.
What happens when the edited PDF is saved?
2PDF2 keeps the original PDF pages and places your added visual edits over the corresponding pages in the output PDF. The original document is not modified on your device. Save and review the new file before deleting or replacing the source.

Is the Edit PDF tool free to use?
Yes. The current 2PDF2 Edit PDF tool can be used without a paid account.
Is my PDF uploaded to 2PDF2?
The editor processes the selected PDF in your browser and does not intentionally send that PDF to a 2PDF2 server for editing. Normal webpage requests to third-party services may still occur; see the Privacy Policy for details.
Can I directly rewrite existing PDF text?
Not with this browser editor. It adds visual edits and annotations over the original page rather than rebuilding the internal PDF text objects.
Can I add a signature?
Yes. Use Add image / signature to insert a PNG, JPEG, or WebP image of your signature and place it on the page. This is a visual signature image, not a cryptographic digital signature.
Does a white box permanently remove hidden information?
No. A white box only covers content visually. It must not be treated as secure redaction of confidential information.
Can I edit a password-protected PDF?
Encrypted or password-protected PDFs may not open in this editor. Use an authorized method to remove the protection first.
