Split PDF
Split or extract PDF pages directly in your browser
Separate pages from a PDF without installing software. Extract selected pages into one new PDF, divide a document into custom page ranges, or create a separate PDF for every page.
Split PDF
Select one PDF, choose how you want to split it, then download the result.
Privacy note: the PDF you select is read and processed in your browser by this tool. 2PDF2 does not intentionally upload the selected PDF to its own server for splitting. The webpage itself may still connect to third-party services such as our code-delivery provider, analytics, or advertising services as described in our Privacy Policy.
How to split a PDF
- Select Choose PDF file and add one PDF.
- Choose whether to extract selected pages, split by ranges, or split every page.
- For page-based modes, enter the page numbers or ranges you need.
- Select Split PDF.
- Download the new PDF or ZIP file when processing finishes.
Three ways to split your document
Extract selected pages
Choose pages such as 1-3, 5, and 8-10 and place them together in one new PDF. The order you enter is used for the output.
Split by page ranges
Turn ranges such as 1-3, 4-6, and 7-10 into separate PDF files. The results are packaged into one ZIP for easier downloading.
Split every page
Create a separate single-page PDF for each page in the source document. All generated files are placed into one ZIP archive.
Local processing
The selected PDF contents are processed by this tool in your browser rather than uploaded to 2PDF2 for splitting.
When is splitting a PDF useful?
Splitting can help when a large document contains sections that need to be shared separately. Typical examples include extracting one chapter from a report, separating invoices, sending only the relevant pages of an application, dividing scanned records, or creating individual pages for review.
How page ranges work
Enter individual page numbers or inclusive ranges separated by commas. For example, 1-3,5,8-10 means pages 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 9, and 10. Page numbers must exist in the selected document. For Split by ranges, each comma-separated item becomes a separate output PDF.
What happens to the original PDF?
The tool creates new files from the pages you choose. It does not modify the original PDF stored on your device. Keep the original until you have checked that the split files contain the pages you need.
Important PDF limitations
This tool is intended for standard, readable PDF files. Password-protected, encrypted, damaged, or unusually complex PDFs may not split successfully. The visible page appearance is normally retained, but advanced features such as forms, bookmarks, attachments, scripts, digital signatures, or other interactive elements may not behave exactly as they did in the source document. Always review important output files before relying on them.
Frequently asked questions
Is the Split PDF tool free to use?
Yes. The current 2PDF2 Split PDF tool can be used without a paid account.
Is my PDF uploaded to 2PDF2?
The splitter processes the selected PDF in your browser and does not intentionally send that PDF to a 2PDF2 server for splitting. Normal webpage requests to third-party services may still occur; see the Privacy Policy for details.
Can I extract non-consecutive pages?
Yes. For example, enter 2,5,9-12 to create one PDF containing those selected pages.
What does Split by ranges do?
Each comma-separated range becomes a separate PDF. For example, 1-3,4-6,7-10 creates three PDFs, which are delivered together in a ZIP file.
Can I split a password-protected PDF?
Not with this splitter. Remove the password protection using an authorized method first, then select the unlocked PDF.
Does splitting reduce page quality?
The tool copies pages into new PDF documents rather than intentionally turning them into images or recompressing their visible content. Complex interactive features can vary, so review the output when the document is important.
