Page selection examples
Extract a page range
Enter 3-8 to create a new PDF containing pages 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8.
Combine ranges and single pages
Enter 1-3,7,10-12 to extract several different parts of the same document into one PDF.
Choose a custom order
Enter 10,1,5 when you want the extracted PDF to contain source page 10 first, then page 1, then page 5.
Extract odd or even pages
Use the Odd pages or Even pages shortcut when working with double-sided scans, print layouts, or alternating page sets.
Does extracting pages reduce PDF quality?
The tool does not intentionally rasterize the selected pages. It copies the selected PDF pages into a new PDF, which helps retain their original page content instead of converting them into image screenshots.
What happens to pages I do not select?
They are not added to the new PDF. Your original PDF remains unchanged on your device.
What is the difference between Extract PDF Pages and Split PDF?
Extract PDF Pages is designed to create one new PDF from a precise set of pages you choose. Split PDF is better when you need to divide one document into several PDFs, separate every page, or split by multiple ranges.
Frequently asked questions
Is the Extract PDF Pages tool free to use?
Yes. The current 2PDF2 Extract PDF Pages tool can be used without a paid account.
Is my PDF uploaded to 2PDF2?
The selected PDF is processed in your browser and is not intentionally uploaded to a 2PDF2 server for page extraction.
Can I extract non-consecutive pages?
Yes. Enter individual page numbers separated by commas, for example 2,5,9,14.
Can I extract several page ranges at once?
Yes. For example, 1-4,9-12,20 creates one PDF containing all of those selected pages.
Can I change the order of extracted pages?
Yes. The order you enter is preserved. Enter 5,3,1 to produce those pages in that exact sequence.
What happens if I enter the same page twice?
Duplicate references are ignored after the first occurrence so the same source page is not accidentally added more than once.
Can I extract pages from a password-protected PDF?
Not directly. Unlock an authorized protected PDF first, then extract pages from the unencrypted copy.
